When branding agency, SEA Design sought to expand their studios in 2015, ArchitecturePLB were asked to advise on the design concept, layout and look and feel for their new space. The final project was then delivered by interiors specialist EAT:id
The studio spans 3 storeys, providing studio and office space at basement and 1st floor levels, whilst the ground floor is client facing, incorporating a gallery, presentation and event space.
The existing layout and design was for two horizontally split units, with 3 stairs. ArchitecturePLB developed a strategy to unite the spaces with a single open plan stair case. This strategy required expert advice to ensure a safe environment and compliant fire strategy.
Glass floors were added to introduce visual connections and natural light to the basement studio. ArchitecturePLB retained the building’s existing fabric which was discovered when the space was striped out. Sections of raw brick walls are complemented by exposed metal framework and self finish resin floors.
