ArchitecturePLB has been assisting Goldbeck, a German system-build contractor to develop a new housing solution for the UK market. Adapting their continental system to local regulations and cultural expectations, we have worked closely with Goldbeck and their local consultant team to develop a ‘basebuild’ model, to test the system’s efficiency and flexibility. The solution is designed to be at its most effective from three to six storeys, but can be extended to taller blocks if required. Like the German product, the Goldbeck UK solution will provide the same benefits of offsite construction, using a standardised modular approach to reduce construction times, enhance quality control and deliver early cost certainty.
