ArchitecturePLB has recently made a number of significant promotions across the practice as well as welcomed new team members to both the London and Winchester Studios. Jo DeSyllas and Paul Phasey have been promoted to Associate Director level in recognition of their contribution to the practice.

Jo celebrated her 20-year anniversary at the practice earlier this year. She has recently completed the New Sports Complex at Solent University and is now leading a number of education projects for the practice.

Since joining ArchitecturePLB in 2004, Paul has developed his interest in sustainable design that started whilst studying at the University of Portsmouth. He was winner of the ‘ArchitecturePLB Sustainability Prize’, awarded to a final year graduate for innovation and excellence in approach to sustainability. He is now the practice’s Passivhaus designer and continues to be at the forefront of our sustainability research.

In the last few months, we have also welcomed several new team members to resource an exciting range of projects. Our London studio has gained four new architectural staff, Senior Architect, Niamh Mathews, Architects, Michaella Savva and Theclalin Cheung, and Architectural Assistant, Argyro Vassalou. Our Winchester studio has welcomed Architect Paul King and Architectural Assistants, Konstantina Kypriou and Tryfon Balasas.

ArchitecturePLB recently had our summer practice day which was an excellent opportunity for new and old team members to get to know each other better. This year we visited the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower, where we enjoyed expansive views over the city and the University of Portsmouth Campus which includes several ArchitecturePLB projects. In 2017 ArchitecturePLB completed a 15-20 year masterplan for the campus which is now being rolled out.
