Joining ArchitecturePLB 20 years ago, Jo was appointed to Associate in 2006 and Associate Director in 2019. She has a wealth of schools experience covering primary, secondary and special needs schools. Jo was the project architect for Jo Richardson Community School which has been featured in a number of publications including those by CABE and DfES. Jo enjoys the dialogue with end users and stakeholders and is experienced in integrating their various requirements with good quality design. Committed to on going relationships with clients, Jo has helped with the implementation of the Built Environment teaching at GCSE level. She has also been involved with DfES publication on Extended Schools. Awareness of and sensitivity to client issues led Jo to be lead architect for the new centre for the new Wessex Children’s Hospice Trust building at Naomi House – a unique respite care facility for young adults with life-limiting illnesses. Jo is a member of the Architects Advisory Panel that advises planning departments at Winchester City Council and Eastleigh Borough Council. Within the practice she leads computer drafting research, protocols and implementation for both 2D and Building Information Modelling across our studios that supports our QA management accreditation. jodesyllas@architectureplb.com
