Alex has worked at ArchitecturePLB since 2007 and focused mainly on education projects. This ranges from primary and secondary schools, through to university, new build and refurbishment projects, both academic and residential. New build secondary schools include Littlehampton Academy and St Marks School Southampton, and university clients include The London School of Economics, Royal Veterinary College and University of the Arts, London.

Alex enjoys and works well with both commissioning users / clients, developing design layouts to achieve a brief and overseeing technical design and production information for construction. He considers the design concept and the successful delivery of a project as equally important. Alex also works well delivering large and complex projects of typically up to £40 million, and on small refurbishments where detailing and delivery require imaginative thinking to solve complex issues with existing buildings.

Architecturally, Alex is very interested in 20th century architectural design, historic buildings and conservation work. He is very well versed with a range of construction techniques and materials, both contemporary and traditional.

Outside work, Alex has a busy family life and tries to keep up with his 3 teenage children visiting cities, mountain biking, climbing mountains and similar outdoor pursuits. He also has very extensive practical construction experience having undertaken construction work on the refurbishment and restoration of several houses.
