Jo joined ArchitecturePLB in 1999 and was appointed to Associate Director level in 2018. During this time, she has worked predominantly in education design and has gained a wealth of experience covering primary through to secondary including special needs and up to higher education. Her experience and enjoyment of the dialogue with end users and stakeholders, gained from her education projects is an asset.
She is experienced in integrating their various requirements with good quality design. She was the project architect for Jo Richardson Community School which has been featured in a number of publications including those by CABE and DfES as a quality benchmark in PFI design and was involved with the DfES publication on Extended Schools. Jo is a member of the Southampton Design Advisory Panel and the Winchester and Eastleigh Design Review Panel and leads the BIM strategy and RIBA student mentoring programme within the practice.
Fluent in French having lived and worked in Switzerland, Jo is a mum of two and a keen crafter. As well as being a keen knitter, she has recently started sewing and holds a City and Guilds qualification in silver smithing. Also a cat and plant 'mum', she enjoys running and competing in the odd event for fun.
