Pimlico Academy, Westminster

Completion Date 2011

Contract Value £20m

Client Westminster City Council

The new Pimlico Academy replaces the existing Pimlico School on the same site, addressing Westminster City Council’s concerns about the existing 1960s building being able to accommodate future requirements of both the school and local community. Constructed by Bouygues, and with a capacity of 1,262, the new school caters for 1,050 pupils, a 200-place sixth form and a 12-place specialist Speech Language and Communications needs unit, as well as providing a new home for Pimlico Library and a new local centre for Westminster’s Adult Education Service.
