ArchitecturePLB are thrilled to announce that the Woodcote Road development, comprising 11 affordable housing units in a 4-storey apartment building, has officially received its Passivhaus certification. This achievement marks a crucial step in Sutton's programme of social housing development, which emphasizes zero and low carbon solutions in alignment with the borough's 2020 Climate Emergency Response Plan. ArchitecturePLB acted as architect and Passivhaus Designer, with Kind & Co as main contractor and MEAD Consulting Ltd as Certifier.
The Woodcote Road project is part of a larger initiative to create ultra-low energy, affordable housing across two sites in Sutton. This development maximizes the site's capacity while respecting the massing and building lines of adjacent modern developments.
Passivhaus certification ensures that the building meets rigorous standards for energy efficiency and comfort.
The success of the Woodcote Road development paves the way for future sustainable housing projects in the borough, contributing to Sutton's ambitious goal of becoming a carbon-neutral district.
