Affordable housing scheme at 37-39 Salisbury Road submitted for planning
Date posted: December 7, 2022
A redevelopment of 20 affordable homes has been submitted for planning at 37-39 Salisbury Road for New Forest District Council.
The plan consists of two buildings with a mix of one-and-two-bedroom flats. Block A has 5 two-bedroom apartments and 7 one-bedroom flats and Block B has 8 one-bedroom flats.
The scheme offers a thoughtful, sustainable and timely answer to Totton’s demand for affordable housing. With excellent transportation links and convenient access to the town centre, these zero-parking proposals represent a highly sustainable scheme which has been designed to achieve the 2025 Future Homes Standards.
The site sits in the boundary of the town centre and so had to be balanced with a mixed non-residential and residential context. The response is intended to be contextual and sit sympathetically within its context using robust, long-life materials that will significantly enhance this currently derelict site.
