RICS Social Impact Awards 2020

Date posted: February 27, 2020

Two of our projects have recently been shortlisted for the inaugural RICS Social Impact Awards which recognise the built environment’s positive and transformational contribution to society.

The new headquarters for Life Sciences company Promega UK has been shortlisted in the South East region Commercial category. ArchitecturePLB were briefed to design a building which reflected Promega’s ethos and was ambitious in quality, sustainability, and environment for its staff. The building creates a ‘home from home’ atmosphere with excellent natural light, a connection to nature and a variety of spaces in which to work.

The new Solent Sports Complex, also within the South East region, has been shortlisted for two categories, Education and Leisure. The project, which is part of a wider campus development plan has created a landmark building for the University overlooking Southampton’s listed parks. As well as supporting excellence in the teaching of specialist sport and fitness related degrees, the complex is a key part of the University’s wellbeing offering and is open to staff, students and the local community.

Judging is currently underway and South East winners will be announced on 11th June.
