Rupert Cook Director of ArchitecturePLB was invited to join the panel discussion at the recent NLA breakfast talk – ‘How do we deal with the legacy of 1960s university buildings?’ The debate was focussed on addressing problems with buildings created during the sector’s booming period through the 1960-1970s, loosely based about the extremes of demolish or retro-fit. The panel also included: Julian Robinson – LSE, Bill Hunt – London Met, Carol Lelliot – Nick Hare, James Dunnett, Past Chair – DOCOMOMO-UK and Peter Murray, Chairman, NLA (Chair).
