Mayflower Halls Official Opening

Date posted: August 29, 2014

Mayflower Halls was officially opened on 28th August, the event was marked by a ceremony conducted by local MP John Denham who was joined by University of Southampton Vice Chancellor Professor Don Nutbeam, Mayor of Southampton Sue Blatchford and the Chairman of Osborne, Andrew Osborne.

The ceremony was well attended, with numerous senior representatives from the University, along with members of the project team, including funders Legal and General and development partners Terrace Hill (Urban and Civc) and Osborne Developments.

The building will begin to welcome the first wave of students towards the end of September, with over 900 rooms of the 1104 total already allocated. The construction team has worked hard to complete the building on time, with the finishing touches to be completed early September.

Mayflower Halls doesn’t mark the end of the strong relationships built with the client and contractor. The team have already moved on to a new project, following Osborne’s successful bid to construct the Chamberlain Halls scheme on the University of Southampton campus.
