Gliding Heritage Centre

We have been asked by The Gliding Heritage Centre to help develop a brief for a new museum building for the Heritage Lottery Fund applications. The new museum is to sit alongside the recently completed hangar at Lasham Airfield in Hampshire – home of Lasham Gliding, one of the biggest gliding clubs in the world.

The Gliding Heritage Centre aims are to educate the public in the heritage of gliding and to preserve the associated history. It is envisaged that the new museum will accommodate display, education, workshop and archive spaces and to be linked to the existing hangar that already accommodates a range of rare and historic planes from national collections.

Architecture PLB have been preparing a range of building options to develop the brief which will be cost managed by Mace.
