Bournemouth and Poole College development granted planning

ArchitecturePLB have been working with Bournemouth and Poole College to rationalise and modernise their Lansdowne Campus. Planning permission and listed building consent has recently been granted for a phased development which will vastly improve the student experience and efficiency of the campus. The design team, including landscape consultants UBU Design, have addressed the campus as a whole to create more coherent pedestrian friendly routes across campus and include a new landscaped plaza at the centre, providing the college with a car-free green amenity space for the first time.

The existing campus includes three listed buildings and a variety of other blocks of varying ages. The scheme will replace aging unfit buildings with new purpose-built teaching facilities, a new student refectory and a new home for the college’s renowned teaching restaurant.

ArchitecturePLB and planning consultant Pure Town Planning worked with Bournemouth Borough Council to secure the best possible development for the college whilst respecting the college’s listed buildings and wider area.
