Quebec Park, Whitehill Bordon
Completion Date Due 2018
Contract Value £14.8m
Client Radian Group
Quebec Park is the first major housing development at Whitehill and Bordon and is set to be an exemplar sustainable community. Located on the former Ministry of Defence Quebec Barracks site, the 3.26 hectare, 100-home scheme will establish a standard for the future phases, and provide a boost to the town’s economy after the MOD departure in 2015.
The homes are a mix of private and affordable family houses and flats, built to Code 5 and Zero Carbon Hub standards. Principally adopting a ‘fabric first’ approach, they incorporate a range of primarily passive measures to reduce their carbon emissions.
A key component of the scheme the conversion of two former barrack buildings into a Community Employment Hub, creating 50 new jobs. The converted buildings will be linked by a glazed atrium, housing a café and meeting spaces, with a new public square at the heart of the development.
Shortlisted for Best Design, National Housing Awards 2017
