The redevelopment of Eastlea Community School involved reconfiguration of the whole campus, comprising both new build accommodation and extensive refurbishment to a series of 20th century buildings historic Victorian Board school. A new main entrance, remodelled and refurbished general teaching accommodation, and a new dining and art wing transformed a disparate group of buildings into a legible, secure campus. A rolling phasing and decant programme allowed the entire campus to be upgraded with minimum disruption. Additional community functions have also been incorporated, including an enterprise cafe part-funded by Thames Gateway.
