RIBA Hampshire CPD Overheating in New Homes

Date posted: September 25, 2018

ArchitecturePLB will be hosting an RIBA Hampshire CPD event at our Winchester Studio on Tuesday 2 October, 6pm. Paul Ciniglio from BM3e will be talking about preventing overheating in new homes. ArchitecturePLB have worked closely with Paul during his time with Radian Homes and VIVD Housing Association. We very much look forward to what promises to be an interesting and informative talk.

‘The Committee on Climate Change (CCC) estimates that as many as a fifth of new homes recently built are experiencing summer ‘overheating’ or are at a significant future risk as the UK climate changes. The unfortunate consequences for occupants are discomfort and potentially serious health implications. It is now essential that the risks are fully considered at the design stage.  This CPD seminar will review the typical causes of overheating, present case studies and introduce CIBSE TM59 ‘Methodology for predicting overheating risk in homes’ launched in 2017. The session will be given by Paul Ciniglio, Principal of BM3e (part of Boulter Mossman chartered surveyors) who has contributed to developing the knowledge base associated with this critical adaptation issue.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For more information and to book a place at this free seminar, please email nesta.damenlane@acgarchitects.co.uk
